मुकेश तोमर के लिए जाने माने कॉलेज से वकालत की पढ़ाई करना किसी सपने से कम नहीं था। मुकेश भोपाल के एक आदिवासी समुदाय का लड़का है, इनके पिता दिहाड़ी मजदूरी करते हैं। उसके लिए राष्ट्रीय विधि संस्थान विश्वविद्यालय भोपाल (एनएलआईयू) में दाखिला के लिए पर्याप्त पैसा नहीं था, पर ब्रिटेन से लौटे अमिताभ सोनी के प्रयासों से आज मुकेश वहां से बीएएलएलबी पहले साल की पढ़ाई कर रहा है।
हरवीं की परीक्षा 88 प्रतिशत से पास करने वाले मुकेश (20 वर्ष) का कहना है, “गांव के लोगों में क्षमताएं तो बहुत होती हैं, पर हमे मौके नहीं मिल पाते। हम लोग मेहनत करने से पीछे नहीं हटते हैं, हमारी मेहनत, हमारे सीनियर्स और अमिताभ सर का सहयोग मिला जिसकी वजह से आज मैं अपनी मनपसंद पढ़ाई कर रहा हूँ।”
मुकेश की तरह इस पंचायत के 18 परिवार के बच्चों का अमिताभ सोनी ने अपने सहयोगी साथियों की मदद से अच्छे स्कूलों में दाखिला कराया है। अमिताभ ने भारत की पहली ऐसी आईटी कम्पनी खोली है जिसे आदिवासी ही चलाते हैं। ये जनसहयोग से बनी कम्पनी है, इसका नाम विलेज क्वेस्ट है। इसकी शुरुआत गांव में इसलिए की गयी जिससे गांव और शहर के बीच का गैप खत्म किया जा सके। यहां के बच्चे गांव में आने वाले हर किसी से अभिवादन में जयहिंद कहते हैं।
अमिताभ सोनी का बचपन भोपाल और इंदौर में बीता है। ब्रिटिश सरकार के सोशल वेलफेयर बोर्ड लंदन में 10 साल काम करने के बाद जब इनका मन वहां नहीं लगा तो ये तीन साल पहले भारत लौट आए। भोपाल की एक पंचायत भानपुर केकड़िया में अमिताभ आदिवासियों को स्वावलम्बी बनाने में जुटे हुए हैं। ये पंचायत मध्यप्रदेश के भोपाल शहर से 25 किलोमीटर दूर है। अमिताभ चाहते थे इस गांव का युवा रोजागर के लिए शहरों को पलायन न करें, इसके लिए इन्होने हर सम्भव प्रयास इस पंचायत के लिए किए हैं।
